Robert Craven is from Los Angeles. He has been an Elder at the Palm Desert Church of Christ since 1992 as well as the Administrative Director / Principal at the Palm Desert Learning Tree Center. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1970 as a medical corpsman. He then attended Los Angeles City College and California State University at Los Angeles, where he earned degrees in Recreation Education. He was the La Quinta High School varsity baseball coach from 1994 to 2000; and a coach for the U.S. National Baseball Team from 2007 to 2015. Over the course of his career, he has coached many major league players—including Jameson Taillon, Manny Machado, Albert Almora Jr., Kevin Gausman, Bryce Harper, Tony Wolters, Lance McCullers Jr., Zach Davies, and Francisco Lindor, to name a few. Robert is a grandparent of four and is blessed to be deeply involved in their lives—from mentoring to dance and sports.
